Occasionally, artistic concerts take place in the auditorium just next to the lush garden of the Gulbenkian Open Air Foundation. What makes this little Eden unique is the presence of modern sculptures in its decor ... A real dream of an architect!

The amphitheater, located in the center of this tourist area, hosts, among other things, cultural and artistic services during the holidays. This large lush garden of the wavy Gulbenkian Foundation decorated with several lakes and stone carvings.

In addition, the site features exhibition halls, a Center for Modern Art, a Museum with a library and a restaurant / bar to relax. Of course, you can visit them all! The garden was designed in 1950 and pays homage to its founder Calouste Gulbenkian.

Above all, it forms a vast area of ​​leisure and culture with a rich exterior design characterized by small hanging parks and diverse vegetation. The major works of realization and design were entrusted to the landscape architects Gonçalo Ribeiro Teles and Antonio Viana Barreto. The latter worked in close collaboration with the engineers of the Foundation complex of buildings, including Alberto Pessoa, Pedro Cid and Ruy Athouguia.
