Getting around Lisbon

Lisbon is a wonderful city which has favorably good transit links thanks to its public transport network. The town has indeed several effective means to facilitate the trip of residents and tourists: subways, trams, buses and many other means of transport that we will see below!

Getting around by tram

In addition to being typical, trams prove to be practical and economical means of transport. Eventually, to access the village of Belém or to climb one of the coasts of Lisbon, trams is still a pleasant and suitable transport.

The train stations in Lisbon are meticulously cared for. The subways will allow you a quick trip from one end to the other of the Portuguese city. It will indeed be possible to reach the Parc des Nations in a few minutes. To visit the site, take one of the 4 lines that make up the metropolitan Lisbon traffic.

Getting around by bus

In perfect complementarity with the network of trams, buses will make you appreciate a wider movement. The latter serve the parts that are not covered by the other means of transport.

It provides a magnificent view of the Baisa district, the Castelo de Sao Jorge and the Tagus.

Getting around  by funiculars railways

In Lisbon, there are 3 funiculars railways available: Gloria, Bica and Lavra. These types of elevators and ascensors are used to climb the hills in a fast and effortless way especially as they provide easy access to several lookouts in the village. As for Gloria funicular, it will transport you to the viewpoint of Sao Pedro de Alcantara. The last funicular, found in Bica, will allow you to reach the Belvedere of Santa Catarina and the Garden of Torel.

Getting around by subways

Currently, it is possible to take the metro to get from the airport to downtown Lisbon. Today there are 3 major metro stations: Moscavide, Encarnaçao and Aeroporto. It is a very reliable, fast and cheaper way to connect the airport to the city center of the Portuguese capital. How to benefit from the services of the metro? You can bring the card Viva Viagem or "7 colinas".

Getting around  by aerobus

This means of transport crosses through various metro stations. To reach your hotel, you can also use the services of the aerobus which gives access to the entire city of Lisbon. There are two distinct lines: the City Center and the Financial Center.
