Lisbon is only about 30 kilometers away: consequently it’s a perfect pied-à-terre for exploring both the city and its surrounding areas. The outdoor spaces are one the villa’s greatest assets. Twenty hectares of tree-lined and lush green land: you’re going to love picking your fresh fruit in the orchard and your vegetables in the kitchen garden. Feel like getting some exercise? A tennis court is available just for you! Two majestic stone elephants guard the entry to the courtyard in front of the house, a lovely place to dine in the warm summer evenings. The seaside resort of Estoril is only 5 km from the villa, and home to largest casino on the Iberian Peninsula. For nights on the town, shopping and restaurants, you might prefer it to its hotshot neighbor, Cascais, an adorable little fishing village which has become a highly fashionable vacation destination. Although the Estoril and Cascais beaches are small, well-protected and perfect for children, the famous “Praia do Guincho”, a 15 minute drive away, is an vast, wild and very “hip” beach where internationally renowned wind surfing and kite-surfing competitions take place. As for Sintra, it’s a not to be missed cultural destination with its two palaces and sumptuous villas.There are plenty of other things to do and see: Sesimbra, Ericeira and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park are among the absolute musts. The Lisbon airport is only 27 km away.
